The Civil West Construction team recently installed 145-foot, 7-inch prestressed bulb tee beams using a beam launcher and two cranes. In the first week of August, crews followed with an approximately 160-cubic-yard bridge deck pour, beginning at 3:00 a.m. to get ahead of the summer heat and frequent afternoon showers.
•
Crews are also reinforcing the slopes surrounding the bridge and roadway to protect against high seasonal water levels. That work includes 4,439 tons of graded solid rock and 4,551 tons of Class C riprap.
•
The project is led by Superintendents Mark Jenkins and Bobby Henley. Great work by the entire team on the careful planning and coordination behind this progress!
