Austin Shields (left) recently reached another milestone in his Wright Brothers journey, completing his onboarding process and receiving his 90 Day Box alongside Foreman David Bailey on the North Carolina Department of Transportation US 221 Bypass Project in MyRutherfordton , North Carolina.

Our 90 Day Boxes recognize employees who have fully completed onboarding and training, while also welcoming them into the culture and standards that drive our company forward. Along with a certificate, each box includes Wright Brothers gear and WB swag as a small thank you for the hard work and commitment shown during those first critical months in the field.

Austin is part of the team helping deliver one of Western North Carolina’s most important transportation improvements. The NCDOT US 221 Bypass Project will create approximately 8 miles of new four-lane highway with a median and three interchanges, connecting the U.S. 74 Bypass to SR 1366 (Roper Loop Road). The corridor is part of the long-term effort to establish a continuous four-lane route from the North Carolina/South Carolina state line to I-40 in Marion, improving mobility, safety, and regional connectivity across Rutherford County and beyond.
