Standing beside his spotless truck, its chrome reflecting the world as clearly as the pride in his eyes, Robert took a moment to reflect. “I’m going to miss everyone…the people,” he said. “This has been the best place I’ve ever worked—and I’ve been driving a truck for 48 years.” Robert was hired by Mr. Robert Wright himself, a man he deeply admired. “I always got along so well with Mr. Robert,” he shared. “And I’ve felt so blessed to work for the Wright family. Through some of the hardest times in my life, Wright Brothers was there for me and my family.” On Monday, at his retirement luncheon, Steve Wright congratulated him and reminded him—this will always be home.

Robert’s reputation for reliability is legendary. With a proud smile, he shared one final accomplishment: “I’ve never missed a day of work in my life. And now I can say that, because today’s my last day.”
So what’s next? He won’t be slowing down. “I’ve got some tractors I’m going to rebuild—two Fords and an Allis-Chalmers. And I’ll be back for the picnic to drive the hayride.”
