The dawn always comes.

Good Friday holds the weight of the cross. We remember Jesus' willing sacrifice to provide redemption for humanity. “From noon until three in the afternoon darkness came over all the land” (Luke 23:44). The return of light signifies the completion of Christ's sacrifice, the victory over the darkness of sin, and the tearing of the temple veil, which opened access to God.

Because even as that day unfolded, a new beginning was already on its way. Just like this sunrise breaking over the mountains, full of promise, God was preparing what came next. “Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.” (Psalm 30:5)

Good Friday reminds us that the hardest day in history was also the start of something new. Redemption was set in motion. Hope was rising.

The cross was not the end. It was the dawn.
