Meet Robert Goodman, a recent graduate of Madison High School in Marshall, NC. Robert is currently participating in a training program based out of our Asheville office, which introduces participants to the fundamentals of construction through a combination of classroom instruction, field observations, and hands-on learning. Trainees are exposed to topics such as jobsite safety, equipment operations, surveying, grade control, utility installation, earthwork, concrete construction, and quality control. They also learn about the teamwork, communication, and work ethic required to build a successful career in the industry.

These photos show Robert touring our Incinerator Road/I-40 Culvert Tunnel Project near Canton, NC, alongside Director of Training Jared Waldrop. They also show him getting hands-on experience with surveying equipment. Upon successful completion of the program, Robert will transition into a full-time crew placement with Wright Brothers.

As our presence in North Carolina continues to grow, Wright Brothers is developing relationships with local schools, including Madison High School, with the goal of creating workforce development opportunities similar to the highly successful Bradley County Schools PIE Innovation Center program in Cleveland, TN. By introducing students to the construction industry and providing a pathway to employment, we are helping build the next generation of skilled professionals.

We are excited to welcome Robert to the team and look forward to seeing where his career takes him.
