Michael O’Barr and his paving crew are putting in some outstanding work at Grace Baptist Academy Chattanooga , laying asphalt for the school’s new parking lot in some of the toughest conditions a paving crew faces all year.

Late July in the Tennessee Valley means temperatures in the 90s, high humidity and a heat index that can climb well above the air temperature. Add the intense heat coming off freshly laid asphalt, and these are demanding days on the job. Michael and his crew are doing a great job working safely, staying focused and keeping the project moving.

The work is also part of an important new chapter for Grace Baptist Academy. More than six years after the campus was struck by a powerful EF3 tornado, the Academy is being rebuilt, with Tyson & Associates Construction Company serving as general contractor. We’re proud to have a part in bringing the new campus together for the students, families and staff of Grace Baptist Academy.

Great work by Michael and the entire crew under some seriously challenging summer conditions.
