This view from our NCDOT Incinerator Road project off I-40 shows progress on what will be North Carolina’s first-ever pre-cast culvert tunnel under an interstate. Once complete, this innovative structure will allow traffic to pass beneath I-40, making room for future widening without interrupting the flow above.

The project is being built in two phases and is slated for completion in 2028. We are so proud to be a part of this milestone moment in North Carolina infrastructure!
