Project Manager Conner Cochran recently led U.S. Rep. Virginia Foxx on a tour of our North Carolina Department of Transportation N.C. 105 Widening and Bridge Replacement Project in Boone, North Carolina.
•
Crews are wrapping up the project’s first phase, with traffic expected to shift onto the newly constructed half of the bridge later this summer. The $47 million project will replace the existing, structurally outdated bridge and widen sections of N.C. 105 between Foscoe and Boone.
•
This important corridor serves residents, Appalachian State University and the many visitors who travel through Watauga County and the North Carolina High Country each year. The multi-phase project remains on track for completion in late 2027.

We appreciate Representative Foxx taking the time to visit the project and see the team’s progress firsthand.
