Steam from newly laid pavement rises around Wright Brothers' crews, hard at work overnight on the I-75/24 Interchanges Design-Build Project in Chattanooga, TN. This TDOT project is a major infrastructure improvement aimed at alleviating congestion and improving safety at one of the busiest interchanges in the state.

The project, awarded as a design-build contract, focuses on reconstructing and reconfiguring the I-75/I-24 interchange to improve traffic flow and reduce delays. With over 100,000 vehicles passing through daily, this area has long been a bottleneck for commuters and freight traffic.

This overnight paving took place at the end of last week during that incredible warm spell, allowing us to take full advantage of favorable conditions. Paving at night helps minimize traffic disruptions, keeps our crews safer. The conditions during this winter warming trend also improve asphalt workability, leading to a smoother, more durable surface.
