“Touch a Truck”

“Touch a Truck”

March 11, 2026
Big trucks. Big curiosity. Big futures.
Last week, members of our recruiting team visited Waterville Elementary School in Bradley County, Tennessee to talk with second graders about careers in construction. Corporate Recruiters Hanna Roy and Kelaiah Evans, along with truck driver Joey Reed, shared what it’s like to work in the industry and answered plenty of great questions from a room full of curious young students. For second graders, construction mostly means one thing… big trucks.
Later in the afternoon, the entire school had the chance to step outside for a “Touch a Truck” experience, getting an up-close look at one of our compact track loaders and a Wright Brothers dump truck. Judging by the excitement, construction equipment still ranks pretty high on the list of cool things in the world.
Construction has a way of capturing young imaginations, and our recruiting team loves opportunities like this to help spark that interest early. You never know which one of those students might be running one of these machines someday.
