Phase 2 involved construction of a 10 acre lined cell. The project consisted of excavation to subgrade of approximately 100,000 cubic yards of soil, 3,000 cubic yards of rock, placement of 55,000 cubic yards of geologic buffer, a 2-foot thick clay liner system consisting of 33,000 cubic yards, installation of geomembrane liner, and placement of protective cover material comprised of 29,000 cubic yards of granular drainage material and 4,500 cubic yards of soil material. The leachate collection system entailed 1,500 linear feet of 6-inch SDR 11 HDPE pipe, 1,500 linear feet of 8-inch SDR 11 HDPE pipe, approximately 70 linear feet of 18-inch HDPE sump riser pipes, and 100 linear feet of leachate force main.
